Our Rabbi - Norman T. Roman
After serving as Senior Rabbi at Temple Kol Ami of West Bloomfield, Michigan for 30 years, Norman T. Roman was named its Rabbi Emeritus in 2016. His knowledge and love of Judaism, his spiritual presence and his leadership had brought the Congregation to local and national prominence.
Rabbi Norm was introduced to BSTC by members who had known him in Michigan when he visited Green Valley seeking retirement options. He celebrated Chanukah with us in 2019, and since officially joining the BSTC Congregation as our Rabbi on January 1, 2020, he conducts several worship services each month, teaches adult education classes on Jewish and general subjects, provides pastoral support to members, and represents the Jewish community in the greater Green Valley area. Our members are very fortunate to have him here.
Although the pandemic crisis saw our facility closed for most of 2020, Rabbi Norm was instrumental as the Ritual Committee greatly enhanced the services offered to our congregation by beginning to stream them via YouTubeLive.
Below are some images showing our Chanukah celebrations, in 2019 (left hand column) and in 2020 (right hand column). We look forward to when we can gather in greater numbers once again.
Please call the office if you need to reach Rabbi Norm.
